Christmas in SG!

Christmas in SG!

It’s that time of the year where everyone looks so happy, cheerful and hopeful. Why not? I mean Christmas in SG is a big celebration that gives us another month’s excuse to live jolly and do what we love most: To eat and shop. YOLO! Christmas only comes once in one year anyways.

The one place that really makes SG memorable is when that spectacular light lit up on Orchard Road, the famous shopping belt that will always remind you to go and attack the malls with a festive mood. The lights in December are just amazing compared to ordinary days and night.

Meanwhile, in Christmas the menus in every restaurant will magically pop up with mesmerizing air that will spread everywhere. Every December the dining scene in SG will give you a festive mood to eat.

Don’t get me wrong. It’s not all indulgence though.

Christmas is still very special in Singapore, especially that there are many Christians to celebrate the holiday. It is a religious celebration like any other, except in SG everyone gets to take part. I mean with the mix of culture, you can just imagine the colorful scenes, practices and celebration that people in SG will do. But there is one part that everyone is task to do during this yuletide season. And that is sharing and giving presents!

A Christmas feast, Singapore style

The unique thing about Christmas in SG is that because of all the different races fused together in one island, all the tradition and culture fuse into one especially in food. The traditional dishes in the west like the Turkey will get a good dose of the local flavor with Asian seasonings from China, India, Malaysia and Philippines. The foods here will guarantee a spiced up Christmas.
